JKUAT · Geomatic Engineering & Geospatial Information Systems
Full course readers and the data that goes with them, for Geostatistics, Remote Sensing Applications and Web Mapping. Everything on this page is free to read, download and reuse.
EGS 2405 · Fourth year
Eleven weeks from spatial autocorrelation to kriging and simulation. Variogram modelling, anisotropy, non-stationarity, and why a degree is not a distance.
scikit-gstat · PyKrige · GeoPandas
EGS 2403
Sensors, atmospheric correction, indices, classification and change detection — built around week six, where a classified image becomes a map only once it has been validated with a probability sample.
Google Earth Engine · QGIS · a STAC/COG port in Appendix D
Week 6 needs a token for the interpretation server, issued to you individually. Ask if you do not have one.
EGE 2531
The full stack: Leaflet in the browser, PostGIS behind it, GeoServer publishing OGC services, and a deployment that survives leaving your laptop.
Leaflet · PostGIS · GeoServer · Flask
The facility register and every geostatistics dataset are synthetic. That is deliberate: a simulated field has a known variogram and a simulated register has known faults, so your work can be checked against the answer rather than against an opinion. The county boundaries are real, from geoBoundaries (public domain), because real polygons behave in ways synthetic ones do not.
The datasets are regenerated with a new random seed each year, so a set of answers from a previous cohort will not fit this year's data.
